Pe numele sau adevarat, Anthony Fitzgerald, Tony Christie, asa cum s-a autointitulat pentru scena, este un mare cantaret englez, nascut pe 25 aprilie 1943. Are peste 10 milioane de albume vandute pe Mapamond.

A devenit cunoscut din 1971, cand a lansat "I Did What I Did For Maria", locul 2 in UK in acel an, dar si "Is This the Way to Amarillo", locul 18, sau "Avenues And Alleyways", pe 37. Doar Amarillo a vandut peste un milion de copii pana in septembrie 1972, castigand atunci si un disc de aur.

A colaborat in special cu compozitorii Mitch Murray si Peter Callander. In 1976 a incercat sa reprezinte UK la Eurovision, dar a iesit pe 3 in selectia nationala cu "The Queen of the Mardi Gras", fiind depasit de castigatorii Brotherhood of Man.

Popularitatea sa a continuat apoi si in Insula, dar si in toata Europa, aducand albume si realizand concerte celebre.
